1 Month Pregnant

If you are 1 month pregnant, then this is the time to determine that you will have the healthiest pregnancy possible!

Though some common pregnancy problems are out of the mother’s control, there are also many that are not. Eating healthy while pregnant will not only be best for baby’s development, but will also help you feel better, have less weight to lose after pregnancy, and help you deal with many common pregnancy problems. Though you may not be able to prevent some things, you can decrease your chances of having to deal with many common pregnancy problems.

Your diet plays a major role in how healthy your pregnancy will be. Good nutrition during pregnancy is important even in the very beginning. When you are even just one month pregnant, you may start dealing with nausea within the next couple of weeks. For many women, nausea during pregnancy begins to improve around the end of the first trimester. Some people experience it the entire pregnancy. Though you cannot prevent it with diet, you can try different things to lessen the severity.

One thing you can try is keeping saltine crackers by your bed to eat in the morning before you get out of bed. Also, you may feel better if you are eating lighter, more frequent meals rather than large, heavy meals. Try to avoid lying down for at least 30 minutes after eating, especially if you are experiencing any reflux. Most importantly, keep foods that you can tolerate on hand!

It is very important that you are taking a prenatal vitamin even as early as 1 month pregnant! You may not be eating all of the nutrients you need, especially if you are dealing with nausea. Your baby needs these nutrients in order to develop, so be sure you are taking some type of prenatal vitamin.

Constipation is also a very common early pregnancy problem. Eating a well-balanced diet with plenty of fiber is important if you are experiencing this problem. Also, getting some physical activity can help with constipation. Walking is a wonderful form of exercise during pregnancy. Be sure to check with your health care provider before exercising during pregnancy.

You will probably crave an unhealthy food at times during pregnancy, and you may not have the energy to get activity every day, but if you commit to being as healthy as possible as early as 1 month pregnant, you will not regret it!
